What’s more American than chili and apple pie?

Roxbury, NY – The Roxbury Arts Group added a new way to savor their annual fiddle festival and support the arts in the Catskills region with the return of their Chili and Apple Pie cookoff as part of Fiddlers! 31. Fiddlers! is a festival celebrating fiddlers and folk music from near and far that was created to honor local fiddler Hilt Kelly. This years event featured: The Downhill Strugglers, The Pine Tree Flyers and The Stoddard Hollow String Band. Following these phenomenal performances a jam session was held, to ensure that these traditions will continue for generations to come.

Contestants dropped off their chilli and apple pie submissions at The Roxbury Arts Center before the festival began, followed shortly there-after by a group of judges. Throughout the day, festival attendees purchased bowls of chili and slices of apple pie along with their choice of beverages and sides and were encouraged to vote for their favorite. Proceeds supported the Roxbury Arts Group and their many events and educational programs. Before the festival ended, the winners were announced.
